Patrice Wellhoff, founder and associate of Key Partners, is both a teacher and an IT specialist.
He began his career as a project manager in an IT department. Then he set up a training company where he was the education leader. It was under his management that all the technical training courses were created, be they software training, technical training or training of trainers. Next, he set up an IT service business, where he was technical director in charge of steering and training project managers in their role. Known throughout the IT world for his comprehensive understanding of systems, he has been a consultant for large IT players such as, Lotus, Adobe and Canon where his consideration and know-how helped put in place an organization better able to communicate with IT managers. An international speaker, Patrice has addressed IT audiences in places as diverse as Paris, Brussels, Rabat and Miami. With the ground-level changes that IT has gone through, notably the increasing power of global systems impacting a significant part of business, he recognized that problems associated with putting systems in place were no longer simply technical, but also human. It is impossible to put a system in place which affects hundreds, or even thousands of employees in the same way as a system that will only affect a few dozen. The variety of functions, environments and localizations affected means that the human impact must be understood and taken into account. Limiting support through a period of change to a simple exercise in communication and training is totally insufficient to resolve problems of change management. Patrice has spent many years developing, refining and testing the techniques he teaches in his book RELAX! 6 STEPS TO OVERCOME RESISTANCE TO CHANGE IN YOUR PROJECTS. Not only does he teach these techniques, he also uses them on a daily basis with his clients, creating acceptance of tomorrow’s systems. By helping project managers to drive change, he facilitates and improves the organization’s capacity absorb the changes that it will experience year after year. |
